Information stored on your device

The app stores completed-chapter progress, saved verses, preferences, and any optional reflection selections in its private on-device storage. This information is used to preserve your place and personalize your experience. Reflection selections are not evaluated and are not intentionally sent to us or included in analytics events.

Removing the app may remove this locally stored information, subject to your device and backup settings. If you use your device's sharing features, the information you choose to share is handled by the selected app or service according to its own privacy practices.

Analytics

The Quiet Path uses Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google, to help us understand how the app is used and improve its performance and reliability.

Firebase Analytics may automatically collect limited information such as:

• app opens, sessions, screen views, and interactions with app features;
• an app-instance or device identifier;
• device model, operating-system version, app version, and language;
• general geographic information derived from an IP address; and
• limited diagnostic information about the operation of the analytics service.

We use this information for analytics and app improvement. We do not use Firebase Analytics to display advertising, and we do not intentionally provide Google with a user's name, email address, reflection selections, saved verses, or precise location. The Quiet Path does not use this information for cross-app tracking.

Google processes Firebase Analytics information on our behalf in accordance with its applicable terms and privacy practices. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics for Firebase documentation.

Scripture and network access

An internet connection is required for features that retrieve licensed NIV scripture passages through the YouVersion Platform. When the app requests a passage, technical information ordinarily associated with an internet request, such as an IP address, device or app information, and the requested passage, may be transmitted to YouVersion and its service providers.

The Quiet Path does not send reflection selections or locally saved progress to YouVersion. YouVersion handles information according to the YouVersion Privacy Policy.

The app may also connect to quietpathapp.com when you choose to open an external website link. Your browser and the website handle that interaction according to their own privacy practices.

Advertising and tracking

The Quiet Path does not display third-party advertising and does not use collected information to track users across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.

Website and newsletter

Our website includes an optional subscription form operated by Substack. If you choose to subscribe, Substack processes the information you provide according to its own terms and privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Data retention and choices

On-device progress, saved verses, preferences, and reflection selections remain on your device until you change or delete them, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.

Analytics information is retained according to our Firebase settings and Google's applicable retention practices. You may limit certain analytics-related information through the privacy and analytics controls provided by your device. You may also contact us with a privacy question or request using the information below.

Children's privacy

The Quiet Path is not submitted under Apple's Made for Kids category and is not directed specifically to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect names, contact information, reflection responses, or other directly identifying personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information associated with the app. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's features, service providers, data practices, or legal requirements change. We will revise the effective date above when changes are made. Material changes will be reflected in the app or its App Store listing when appropriate.
