Day 4 — Wonder Is Not Foolishness

Scripture: Matthew 18:1–5

Adults become good at seeing expenses before opportunity, risks before adventure, and obstacles before possibility. Sometimes that's wisdom. Sometimes it's the weight of adulthood dulling our delight.

When the disciples asked who was greatest, Jesus placed a child among them and taught about humility. He wasn't saying children are always right. He was challenging their view of greatness.

We spend so much time teaching children that we forget they can teach us. A younger child can remind us to delight in simple things. A teenager can challenge an assumption. An older child can open a perspective we'd never considered. Their understanding is incomplete, but so is ours.

Remaining teachable doesn't mean abandoning parental responsibility. Humility can make us better parents.

Reflect: When did I last allow my child to change my perspective?

Practice: Ask your child to teach you about something they love.

Prayer: Jesus, give me the humility You taught Your disciples. Help me stay teachable and let my children see that following You is lifelong. Amen.
